Okay, so for the time being, we don't have curbside pick-up for our recyclables. For those of you that want to begin or continue to recycle items within your home we have Precinct Barn 4! This is the closest drop-off location for a bunch of our everyday recyclables. This "barn" is run by the county and has large containers to throw all of your recyclables in. To save yourself a lot of time you will want to have all of your items separated. This way you will drive-up and drop-off. They are located at 1320 Airport Rd in Aledo. Here's a map.. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 7am-4pm.

The items they will accept are:

Paper- all paper (white, colored, catalogs) is accepted. This means that all the paper you use for kids projects, school work, junk mail, printer paper, etc… is all recyclable. Please be sure that the paper is dry and free from food contaminants. They DO NOT currently accept phonebooks (you can drop these in the large green dumpsters behind the Middle School in Aledo ).

Chipboard- Items like cereal boxes. Not quite a cardboard box but not paper either. Many products come in Chipboard packaging…take a look the next time you go to the grocery store. These boxes go in the Paper bin not the Cardboard bin

Newspaper- Newspaper can also be dropped off in the large green dumpsters behind the Middle School in the center of town.

Plastic- All numbered plastic is accepted. No Plastic Bags.

Glass- All colors

Cardboard-All cardboard (flattened)

Aluminum Cans- All soda/beer cans. They Do Not currently accept tin cans.

Oil- Used motor oil

Batteries- Car batteries

Tires- All car/truck tires

The items above are by no means the end of recyclable materials. These are just the ones that are most common. For those not-so-common recyclable items like old fences, appliances, old metal, small batteries, etc…they have a twice yearly drop-off date (usually in April and October) where you can bring all of these items and just drop them off. We will keep you posted on when the October date is when we know.
