There are so many…aluminum cans, cardboard boxes, chipboard boxes (thinner type of box. ex. cereal boxes), many plastic bottles/containers, newspaper, mixed paper, and glass.
What kind of everyday products can I recycle?

WE ARE NOT FORT WORTH. DON'T FORCE IT
If you want to "Improve" Aledo, why not lobby to incorporate the Carpetbagging rural communities outlying the city limits to strengthen the local city tax base. Hey, what an idea! Improve the decaying Aledo infrastructure!

You are absolutely right, we most definitely are not Fort Worth! Having lived in Aledo for 30 years you have probably seen a lot of change. Unfortunately the change came (and is still coming) and like any "government" progress is SLOW. I think it is time that we stop waiting on our "government". We can have a very successful recycling program without our city doing anything. The people of this community get to decide that. My ultimate goal is to create a program that is governed by the community not by our city.
I do agree with you about our local tax base; it is pathetic. I do live in the city limits and do pay more for that "privilege" (the city is only two square miles-I wouldn't have guessed that looking at out school district). I am not quite sure what we are paying extra for. If anybody knows what extra "perk" there is for living within city limits, please tell me!
