The students and faculty at Trinity Christian Academy have teamed
up with Abitibi-Consolidated Recycling Division to bring the Abitibi Paper
Retriever® Program to the Willow Park, Aledo, and Hudson Oaks
communities.
Starting today, anyone in the area can go to Trinity Christian Academy and
easily be a part of this unique and exciting recycling program. Two Abitibi Paper Retriever® bins are available 24 hours a day on campus. The bin located in the Trinity Bible Church parking lot on the western edge of the campus is designated for public use while a second bin in front of TCA’s Eagle Gym is reserved for school use.
Paper suitable for recycling through the Abitibi Paper Retriever® program
includes all CLEAN and DRY: Newspapers, Magazines, Shopping Catalogs,
Office and School Papers, and Mail. Please do not place metal, glass, plastic, trash, or cardboard in bins.
On a regularly scheduled basis, Abitibi-Consolidated Recycling Division will empty the Abitibi Paper Retriever® bin. After collecting the minimum amount of paper per month, TCA’s high school student council will earn revenue from the contents of the Abitibi Paper Retriever® bin. The paper will then be taken to Abitibi-Consolidated Recycling processing center in Arlington, Texas to be sorted. Finally, it will be sent to one of Abitibi-Consolidated's de-inking facilities in the United States, where it will be turned into marketable paper products such as newsprint. Then the cycle begins again!
In addition to the paper recycling program, an opportunity to recycle aluminum cans exists held throughout the year as well, with community members invited to drop off bags of cans in the parking lot west of Trinity Bible Church from 2pm-4pm on the second Wednesday of each month.
Everyone in the community is encouraged to participate in these programs
to help save landfill space, clean up the environment and raise funds for
a neighborhood school by recycling paper products and aluminum cans.
